We all know Expo 2020 is nearing its opening date and Dubai Government is on full productive mode to develop the best infrastructure to meet all needs of every visitors that will flock into Expo 2020 site.
New Bus stations to Serve Expo 2020
Roads Transport Authority (RTA) has initiated new plan to establish 14 new bus stations along with one bus depot which will be located at Al Quoz. The development plans to meet the commuting requirements during the Expo 2020 events and activities. The new plan is to develop three permanent bus station which will be located at Jabel Ali, Business Bay and in Al Barsha; five temporary stations will also be constructed at Dubai Silicon Oasis, Al Jadaf, Meydan, Palm Jumeirah and Global Village. Some existing bus stations namely Etisalat, Union Square, Al Ghubaiba and bus facilities near Dubai International Airport/ Al Maktoum International Airport will be renovated and more utilities will be implemented for more convenience. These bus station are also developed for the ease of public, supposedly the permanent bus station will be of greater use to the public even after the Expo 2020. RTA has chosen a master plan to meet the needs of all Expo 2020 visitors via incorporating mass transit systems which provides smooth and safe travelling. The selection of the locations bus station has been selected after careful analysis to cater the travel requirements of highly populated residential localities. The new bus stations will be in line with the Dubai Universal Design Code for People of Determination. The design elements will be inspired from the UAEs natural environment, modern style will be incorporated with practical interior and distinct exterior.
The plan is extended to develop roads and junctions of Dubai to serve Expo 2020 as well as the Route 2020 which is part of Dubai Metro Red Line 15 km from Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station to the site of Expo.
