Abu Dhabi’s First Hindu Temple To Be Completed By 2020
Last year during Indian Prime Minister Narender Modis first visit to UAE, the UAE government came in terms to allocate land for the Hindu temple. The first Abu Dhabi Hindu temple is all set start its construction in no time and will be completed by 2020. The seven tower temple will be developed on a 14 acre land representing the seven emirates of the UAE. The article will offer a highlight on the new Hindu Temple and what to expect once it is completed.
Overview
The land allotment for the temple took place on 11th of Feb 2018. The temple will be one of a kind remarkable architectural marvel featuring a serene waterfront surrounded by beautifully landscaped garden. The temple will built in similar to Akshardham temples. Once completed it will be the largest Hindu temple in the UAE. The temple will be covered over 4 to 5 acres of land. Artisans from India will be employed to carve the stones for the temples. The remaining land will used accentuate convenience such as visitors centre, thematic gardens, exclusive prayer halls, learning areas, food court, gift and book shop. The temple will just be 30 minutes away from the Abu Dhabi City, it is set close to the Dubai- Abu Dhabi highway; making it comfortable for people from Dubai even from Al Ain and Sharjah to visit the temple. A complete plan of the temple is not yet available neither developed to make further conclusions. The Vedic ritual ‘Bhumi pujan’ (sanctifying the ground) and ‘Shila pujan’ (sanctifying the stone) ceremonies were done and many devotees attended the ceremony. The Indian Ambassador Navdeep Singh Suri poured words of appreciation for His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Suri stated how the Indo UAE tied are strengthening and the new initiatives will have a long term positive impact.
