Starting from 3rd February, 2016, offers you a great opportunity to delve deep into the unique Emirati culture, heritage and identity. This festival will throw light on the culturally rich history of the capital city and the origin of the country. It is not just about history, children can also have fun with activities including horse and camel ride.
The grand festival held under the patronage of Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Price of Abu Dhabi is being organized by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority. Two primary themes will dominate the festival: Abu Dhabi’s iconic structure Qasr Al Hosn and importance of modern heritage of Abu Dhabi which is displayed in the Cultural Foundation Building.
The festival will feature a wide spectrum of programmes and cultural activities. All these activities complement each other and encourage visitors to play an active role in the rich interactive experience. The festival highlights the history of Qasr Al Hosn. As a visitor, you can experience the history with various activities such as tour of forts, exhibitions, live performances, activities of children, workshops and amazing shows.
Festival Zones :
There festival has been segregated into five zones namely, Qasr Al Hosn, Marine, Desert, Abu Dhabi Island and Oasis. Qasr Al Hosn zone showcases the traditional Emirati culture, Marine zone displays the importance of seafaring heritage, Desert zone pays tribute to the desert, Abu Dhabi Island zone throws light on the life in the city and in the Oasis zone, visitors can learn more about farming and gardening.
Cultural Shows :
The festival will also feature a variety of shows including Bab Al Khair – an Arabic comedy performance, The Sky Show – a show were birds from Al Ain Zoo take part and The Night Safari – a narration of story that describes about the adventurous life and native animals of the UAE.
Exhibitions :
The Festival will also include an array of exhibitions which will display various cultures of the UAE including, Archives and Memories, The Anatomy of a Photograph and Recollection of the Cultural Foundation.
